Pay Attention to Your Dreams Tonight

Pay Attention to Your Dreams Tonight

Spread the love

When you lay down and go to sleep tonight you will dream.  Even if you don’t remember.  Dreams are stories written on the slate of your mind, only thing is, they’re written in disappearing ink.  You may have heard we spend approximately one third of our lives sleeping, and in that sleep we’re experiencing a download of metaphorical symbols and circumstances that nearly always place us in the center of the action.  Because you are the focus of almost all your dreams, it stands to reason that there are benefits to taking the time to recapture your dreams.  Here are four reasons you really need to pay attention to your dreams tonight.

        Invention Dreams

  • Reason #1 Many necessary and valuable things have been brought into this world because of dreams.  The sewing machine, the Beatles song “Yesterday”, Handle’s Messiah and the scientific discovery of the Benzene molecule either originated or were greatly helped along by dreams.  An American woman by the name of Madame C.J. Walker became the first female self-made millionaire in the United States because of a dream.  Google her, it’s a fascinating story.

  •      Predictive Dreams

  • Reason #2 – Some dreams are predictive in nature and warn us of things to come.  President Abraham Lincoln had a dream about mourners in the white house and an assassinated president ten days before he was shot in Ford’s theater.  Although very few death dreams end in the physical death of a person, dreaming of your own death has a way of getting your attention. There are many other, less dramatic, examples of the predictive nature of dreams.  Among the most common are dreams where we find ourselves experiencing deja vu.  These dreams almost never have repercussions of that of an Abraham Lincoln death dream, but its interesting to follow the trails of deja vu dreams and where they lead.

         Purpose and Calling Dreams

  • Reason #3 – Dreams or series of dreams, can reveal to us our life’s purpose.  Everyone’s felt like their life had little or no purpose at one time or another.  Maybe you’ve sought out a new career or new social connections to help give you a sense of purpose.  But have you ever thought about paying attention to what you’re dreaming when you’re on that search? So many times dreamers have shared a dream with methat reveals a life’w purpose or passion. The dream didn’t seem out of the ordinary in any way , yet they couldn’t forget it.
  •   I interpret the dream for them and low and behold the dreamer is overcome with astonishment. The dream outlines their calling and passion, but also gives a summary of the path they’ve taken in life to pursue those passions. The astonishments originates from the fact the dreamer didn’t realize they were pursuing anything. They thought they were just going from one place in life to the next in a random way. They were carrying the answer to what they’d been searching for but they didn’t realize it because it was disguised in a dream.
  •  The dreamer almost always stumbles upon their dreams of purpose and calling accidentally. It’s been my experience that if you, as a dreamer, approach your dreams with intentionality and purpose you’ll uncover more of life’s treasure you didn’t realize you were carrying around in dreams.

  •       Deep Issues

  • Reason #4– Dreams often reveal deep issues to us. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve given a dream interpretation to someone and they’ve responded by saying something like “Wow, that’s deep, I didn’t expect that.” The third reason you need to pay attention to your dreams tonight is because they just may be speaking of a deep issue in your life. The American culture takes dreams so lightly that it may be inconceivable to you that your dreams could have any level of depth at all. Once you start recording your dreams and getting interpretations of them, you begin to see patterns develop and some of these deep issues I’m discussing here begin to reveal themselves. No matter how inconsequential your dreams may seem to you today they just might hold the answers for your tomorrow. It takes courage to explore their meanings .  Will you choose to be courageous today? Feel free to comment below.
